Discover What's Really Driving — or Holding Back — Your Business

How strong is your business today — and where could the greatest opportunities for improvement be hiding?

Running a business can make it difficult to stand back and see the whole picture.

You may know sales are growing, your team is busy and customers are being looked after. But do you know how effectively all the different parts of your business are working together?

The FreeStyle Business Diagnostic helps you take a structured look across your business and identify where you are performing well, where there may be gaps, and where focused improvement could make the greatest difference.

In approximately 10–15 minutes, you will work through 66 practical statements covering key areas of your business and based on the four Tidal Wave Program pillars:

Strategic Clarity

Personal Vision • Business Vision • Strategy & Structure

Operational Efficiency

Culture • People & Productivity • Systems & Processes

Profitability & Growth

Marketing & Sales • Products & Services • Accurate Financials • Managing Costs

Continuous Performance Improvement

Delivering Milestones

Your results will help you identify:

  • areas where your business is already performing strongly;

  • weaknesses or gaps that may be restricting performance;

  • opportunities to strengthen profitability, systems and processes;

  • areas requiring greater management attention;

  • opportunities to reduce owner dependency; and

  • where working on the business could create the greatest impact.

How the Business Diagnostic Works

1.       Assess your business

You will work through 66 statements across 11 areas of your business, rating how accurately each statement reflects the way your business operates today.

There are no right or wrong answers. The value comes from being realistic about where your business is now, rather than where you would like it to be.

2.       Discover your strengths and opportunities

Your responses are scored to provide an overall picture of business performance and identify the areas offering the greatest potential for improvement.

This gives you a structured starting point for deciding where to focus first.

3.       Add the financial picture

Operational performance tells us part of the story. Your financial results tell us another.

If you would like a more detailed FreeStyle analysis after completing the diagnostic, you can provide a small amount of additional information about your business.

This enables us to combine your diagnostic results with your financial information to prepare an indicative assessment of potential improvement opportunities in areas such as profitability, sales performance and business value.

How to Rate Your Business

For each statement, select the response that most accurately describes your business today:

1 — Never considered or not currently in place
2 — Considered, but little or no action taken
3 — Partially implemented / work in progress
4 — Operating effectively
5 — Fully implemented, consistently applied and regularly reviewed
N/A — Not applicable to my business

Don't overthink your answers.

Your first instinct will often provide the most useful response. Be realistic rather than aspirational—the purpose isn't to achieve the highest score; it's to identify where improvement could create value.

Want to Go Further?

After completing your Business Diagnostic, you can request a more detailed analysis by providing answers to these four questions:

What are the key challenges currently facing your business?
Why do these challenges need to be addressed?
Where would you like to take the business?
What would achieving that mean for you personally?

Together with the following information from your last financial year or most recent 12 months:

Total Revenue / Sales / Turnover — excluding GST
Cost of Goods Sold
Operating Expenses — excluding payroll
Payroll — including contractors but excluding owner drawings
Net Profit Before Tax

Your information will be treated confidentially and used for the purpose of preparing your FreeStyle Business Diagnostic analysis.

The resulting analysis can help illustrate the potential impact of improving different areas of the business and provide a clearer picture of the difference between maintaining the status quo and taking focused action to strengthen the business.
